How I discovered the book
 
I used to be part of a book club which met once every month. ‘The Jane Austen Book Club’ was one of the books that was discussed during one of these meetings. Unfortunately, I missed that meeting. When I talked to fellow book club members later, they said that the book didn’t get many positive comments, and the book club members didn’t like it too much. I never got around to reading the book after that. Sometime back, the movie version of the book was playing on one of the TV channels. I watched it for a few minutes and then got hooked into it. I put aside my work and watched the whole movie till the end. I loved the movie. Then I checked the schedule to find out when the movie was going to be played again, and watched it again. I enjoyed it when I watched it the second time too. I thought that I had been a little biased against the book, and so I decided to read the book.  When I went searching for the book in the bookshops, I discovered that it had miraculously disappeared! It took a few months for the bookshop folks to get me a copy. I got it a few days back and finished reading it yesterday. Here is the review.
